Here at YLF, we seek to build a community that lasts beyond the five days our delegates are at the Forum.
Many of the delegates that come to YLF have never been exposed to the disability community. At YLF, that changes. For some, the Forum represents their first opportunity to interact with others their age who have a similar disability to their own – or, for that matter, a completely different one.
We take great pride in fostering an atmosphere in which our delegates can feel comfortable and confident in their own identity.
We aim to further these bonds by providing our delegates with professional guidance and resources for independent living, advocacy efforts and opportunities to participate in the disability community.
YLF also gives delegates the chance to have one-on-one conversations with professionals with disabilities and forge mentorships that can help propel their careers.
